About the event
Rinpoche will teach on the nature of Bodhicitta – the compassionate heart-mind of awakening – and on the qualities of a Bodhisattva – the spiritual hero who, from the heart of great compassion, vows to remain present in this world for the benefit of all beings without exception.
For these vows to be offered on this day, Saga Dawa Duchen, one of the holiest days in the Tibetan Buddhist calendar, and by such a master is beyond expression.
Some moments arrive with very little warning and offer everything to you. This is just such a moment.
Saga Dawa Duchen commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and parinirvana of Shakyamuni Buddha, and it is said that on this day the karmic weight of every action taken, positive or negative, is multiplied one hundred million times. It is a day when the field of practice is unlike any other day of the year.
